Summary
CVE-2020-12820 is a stack-based buffer overflow vulnerability affecting FortiOS versions 6.0.10 and below, as well as 5.6.12 and below. When a remote attacker is authenticated to the SSL VPN, they can exploit this issue by sending a large FortiClient file name, which may result in the FortiClient NAC daemon (fcnacd) crashing. Potentially, an attacker could execute arbitrary code after the crash, although no proof of concept code has been published to achieve this outcome yet.
