Summary

CVE-2020-0601 is a spoofing vulnerability that affects Windows CryptoAPI (Crypt32.dll) and its handling of Elliptic Curve Cryptography (ECC) certificates. An attacker could take advantage of this weakness by using a fabricated code-signing certificate to sign a malicious executable. By doing so, the attacker can deceitfully make the malware appear as if it originated from a trusted and legitimate source. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to system security, as it can bypass usual security measures and compromise the integrity of software installed on the affected system.
