Summary
CVE-2017-12617 is a vulnerability affecting various versions of Apache Tomcat, including 9.0.0.M1 to 9.0.0, 8.5.0 to 8.5.22, 8.0.0.RC1 to 8.0.46, and 7.0.0 to 7.0.81. When HTTP PUTs are enabled (default setting), an attacker can upload a malicious JSP file to the server by exploiting a specific request. Once uploaded, the JSP file can be executed, potentially leading to serious security consequences.
