Summary
CVE-2016-0051 is a privilege escalation vulnerability affecting multiple Microsoft operating systems, including Windows Vista SP2, Windows Server 2008 SP2 and R2 SP1, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2012 Gold and R2, Windows RT 8.1, and Windows 10 Gold and 1511. A crafted application can be used by local users to exploit the WebDAV client and gain elevated privileges. This vulnerability could potentially allow attackers to gain administrative access to affected systems. Users are advised to install the available Microsoft security updates to mitigate this issue.
