Summary
CVE-2009-2055 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Cisco IOS XR 3.4.0 through 3.8.1. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a malformed BGP UPDATE message with an invalid attribute, leading to a session reset and service disruption. The vulnerability was demonstrated in real-world attacks on August 17, 2009. Network administrators are advised to upgrade their software to a patched version to mitigate this risk.
