Summary
CVE-2000-0517 is a vulnerability affecting Netscape 4.73 and older versions. It allows remote attackers to spoof legitimate websites by compromising their DNS information. The browser fails to warn users adequately about a potentially invalid certificate if the user has previously accepted the certificate for a different website. This weakness could lead to user data being stolen or sensitive information being disclosed. To mitigate this risk, users should update their browsers to the latest version or use alternative, more secure browsing solutions.
