Summary

CVE-2000-0280 is a buffer overflow vulnerability in RealNetworks RealPlayer versions 6 and 7. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted Location URL, which is longer than the intended buffer size. This results in the overflow of the buffer, leading to a denial-of-service condition on the affected system. The vulnerability does not allow for arbitrary code execution but can be used to disrupt the availability of the RealPlayer client. Users are advised to update their software to mitigate this risk.
