Summary
CVE-2000-0216 is a vulnerability affecting Microsoft email clients in Outlook, Exchange, and Windows Messaging. This issue allows attackers to manipulate Read Receipt and Delivery Receipt tags, causing a flood of automatic responses. By forging a request and redirecting it to a large distribution list, an attacker can generate a significant volume of traffic, potentially overwhelming mail systems and causing disruptions. This vulnerability poses a serious threat to mail server performance and availability.
