Summary
CVE-2000-0166 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the InterAccess telnet server TelnetD. A remote attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a login name that exceeds the intended buffer size, resulting in the overwriting of adjacent memory. This can lead to the execution of arbitrary commands on the affected system. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to systems that use the InterAccess TelnetD server and have not applied the necessary patch. Unpatched systems are vulnerable to remote command injection attacks.
