Summary

CVE-2000-0081 is a vulnerability affecting Hotmail's email filtering system. This issue allows remote attackers to inject and execute JavaScript code in a user's mailbox through the use of hexadecimal codes representing the "javascript:" protocol, such as "jAvascript." The vulnerability enables attackers to potentially steal sensitive information, install malware, or perform other malicious actions. Hotmail failed to adequately filter and block these codes, making it an exploitable weakness for attackers. Users were exposed to these risks until Hotmail addressed the issue with appropriate security measures.
