Summary
CVE-1999-1581 is a vulnerability affecting the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent (snmp.exe) in Windows NT 4.0 before Service Pack 4. This issue allows remote attackers to cause a denial of service by sending a large number of SNMP packets with undecodeable Object Identifiers, leading to memory consumption and eventual system crash. By exploiting this memory leak, attackers can disrupt the availability of the targeted network device.
