Summary
CVE-1999-1581 is a vulnerability affecting the Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) agent (snmp.exe) in Windows NT 4.0 before Service Pack 4. Malicious actors can exploit this memory leak issue by sending a large number of SNMP packets with undecodable Object Identifiers. The result is a denial of service, as the SNMP agent consumes excessive memory. This vulnerability can be exploited remotely, allowing attackers to cause disruptions to network services.
