Summary
CVE-1999-1564 is a vulnerability affecting FreeBSD 3.2 and potentially other versions. This issue allows a local user to trigger a denial of service (DoS) condition, resulting in a system panic. This is achieved by making a large number of accesses to an NFS v3 mounted directory from a multitude of processes. The DoS condition occurs as the server becomes overwhelmed by the excessive requests, causing it to crash and become unresponsive.
