Summary
CVE-1999-1559 is a vulnerability affecting Xylan OmniSwitch versions prior to 3.2.6. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a CTRL-D character during the login process, thereby bypassing the prompt and gaining unauthorized access. This vulnerability is significant because the OmniSwitch only supports one active session, meaning that once an attacker has gained access, they can lock other users out of the device. This can lead to a denial-of-service condition or potentially more serious unauthorized access to the network infrastructure.
