Summary

CVE-1999-1529 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Trend Micro Interscan VirusWall SMTP gateway versions 3.23 and 3.3 for NT. This issue is located in the HELO command processing function, allowing an attacker to send specially crafted emails containing malicious input that could result in the execution of arbitrary code on the vulnerable system. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could lead to unauthorized access, data theft, or even system takeover. It is recommended that users of the affected software upgrade to a patched version as soon as possible to mitigate this risk.
