Summary
CVE-1999-1515 is a vulnerability affecting TenFour TFS Gateway 4.0. This issue arises from a non-default configuration, where incorrect sender and recipient addresses in messages can trigger a denial of service condition. The gateway is programmed to continually attempt returning the erroneous message every 10 seconds, leading to a significant consumption of system resources and potential service disruption. Malicious actors can exploit this vulnerability by crafting messages with false sender and recipient information, causing the gateway to continuously try to process and return them, resulting in a denial of service scenario.
