Summary
CVE-1999-1512 is a vulnerability affecting the AMaViS virus scanner version 0.2.0-pre4 and earlier. This issue allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary commands with root privileges by embedding shell metacharacters in the reply-to field of an infected email message. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in significant system compromise, making it a serious threat to security.
