Summary
CVE-1999-1491 is a vulnerability affecting Red Hat 2.1's abuse.console component. Instead of correctly handling absolute paths, it utilizes relative pathnames to locate and execute the undrv program. This weakness allows local users to execute arbitrary commands by strategically placing a Trojan horse program in a path that will be mistakenly identified by the system.
