Summary

CVE-1999-1484 refers to a buffer overflow vulnerability in the MSN Setup BBS 4.71.0.10 ActiveX control (setupbbs.ocx). An attacker can exploit this issue by sending malicious input to the vAddNewsServer or bIsNewsServerConfigured methods. Successful exploitation leads to arbitrary code execution, enabling the attacker to run commands at the victim's discretion. This vulnerability posed a significant threat to users of the affected software, potentially leading to compromise of their systems.
