Summary

CVE-1999-1469 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the w3-auth CGI program in the miniSQL package. An attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a specially crafted HTTP request with either a long URL or a long User-Agent MIME header. Successful exploitation allows the attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the affected system. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to systems running the miniSQL package with the w3-auth CGI program enabled and can lead to serious consequences, including unauthorized system access and data theft.
