Summary

CVE-1999-1464 is a vulnerability affecting Cisco IOS 11.1CC and 11.1CT with distributed fast switching (DFS) enabled. An attacker can exploit this flaw to bypass certain access control lists. The vulnerability occurs when the router switches traffic from a DFS-enabled interface to an interface that does not have DFS enabled. According to Cisco's bug report CSCdk35564, this issue can potentially allow unauthorized access to the network. To mitigate this risk, administrators are advised to disable DFS on all interfaces, unless absolutely necessary.
