Summary

CVE-1999-1422 is a vulnerability affecting Slackware 3.4, and possibly other versions, where the default PATH environmental variable includes a reference to the current directory (.). This configuration issue can allow local users to create Trojan horse programs that are unintentionally executed by other users. An attacker can take advantage of this vulnerability to execute malicious commands, potentially leading to system compromise or data theft. Users are advised to update their systems and remove the current directory from their PATH variable to mitigate this risk.
