Summary

CVE-1999-1422 is a vulnerability affecting Slackware 3.4 and potentially other versions. The issue lies in the default configuration that includes a dot (.) in the PATH environmental variable. This misconfiguration allows local users to craft malicious programs and place them in hidden directories. Other unsuspecting users, who have these malicious programs in their PATH, could unknowingly execute them. This security flaw increases the risk of Trojan horse attacks.
