Summary

CVE-1999-1418 is a vulnerability affecting the ICQ99 ICQ web server build 1701 with "Active Homepage" enabled. An attacker can exploit this issue by comparing server responses when a file exists versus when it does not. If a "404 Forbidden" error is returned when a file is expected to exist, the attacker can infer that the file does exist on the server. Conversely, a "404 not found" error indicates that the file does not exist. This vulnerability can enable remote attackers to determine the existence of files on the server, potentially leading to further exploitation.
