Summary

CVE-1999-1408 is a local denial-of-service vulnerability affecting AIX 4.1.4 and HP-UX 10.01 and 9.05 operating systems. Malicious users can cause a system crash by connecting to a local socket, shutting it down, and immediately reusing it to connect to a different local socket. This leads to resource exhaustion and system instability. Users are advised to apply patches or updates to mitigate this vulnerability.
