Summary
CVE-1999-1379 is a vulnerability in the Domain Name System (DNS) protocol. Attackers can exploit this issue by sending a UDP query with a spoofed source address to a DNS name server. As a result, the server amplifies the traffic and sends a larger response back to the victim, causing more traffic than what was initially sent by the attacker. This can lead to denial-of-service (DoS) attacks or other malicious activities.
