Summary
CVE-1999-1372 is a vulnerability affecting Triactive Remote Manager. When this software is used with Basic authentication enabled, it stores username and password information in cleartext registry keys. This creates a risk, as local users who have access to the system can easily obtain these credentials and elevate their privileges. This issue was identified over two decades ago, but it still highlights the importance of securing authentication mechanisms to protect against unauthorized access.
