Summary
CVE-1999-1371 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the /usr/bin/write command in Solaris 2.6 and 7. Maliciously crafted terminal names with excessively long strings can cause the buffer to overflow, allowing local users to exploit this weakness and gain elevated privileges.
