Summary
CVE-1999-1336 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting 3Com HiPer Access Router Cards (HiperARC) versions 4.0 through 4.2.29. An attacker can cause a reboot of the affected device by flooding it with Internet Authentication (IAC) packets to the telnet port. This issue may result in a disruption of network services until the device is rebooted and restored to normal operation. Network administrators are advised to update their HiperARC devices to a patched version or implement protective measures against IAC packet flood attacks.
