Summary

CVE-1999-1331 is a vulnerability in the netcfg package version 2.16-1 of Red Hat Linux 4.2. This issue allows local users to manipulate Ethernet interface settings during system reboot. If an option is set, an attacker can cause a denial of service by shutting down the interface, preventing network connectivity. This vulnerability poses a risk to the availability of network services in affected systems.
