Summary

CVE-1999-1290 is a significant buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the nftp FTP client version 1.40. Malicious FTP servers can exploit this issue by sending overly long response strings, leading to denial of service conditions. Furthermore, attackers may be able to execute arbitrary commands by manipulating the affected buffer, posing a serious risk to system security.
