Summary
CVE-1999-1283 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Opera 3.2.1. Maliciously crafted URLs with an extra forward slash in the "http://" tag can induce the application to crash, resulting in a denial of service. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending the malicious URL to the target user, leading to disrupted service for the affected Opera browser. This vulnerability may pose a threat to users who frequently visit untrusted websites or open emails with suspicious links.
