Summary
CVE-1999-1276 is a vulnerability affecting the fte-console component of the fte package before version 0.46b-4.1. This issue permits local users to elevate their privileges to root level by exploiting the lack of proper privilege dropping in the virtual console device. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability could result in unauthorized root access, leading to potential data theft or system compromise.
