Summary
CVE-1999-1265 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the SMTP server in SLmail versions 3.1 and earlier. Malformed commands with arguments starting with a "(" character, such as "(1) SEND" or "(2) VRFY," can be used by remote attackers to cause the server to crash, resulting in a denial of service. This issue can lead to significant downtime for email services and should be addressed promptly by updating to a patched version.
