Summary
CVE-1999-1231 is a vulnerability affecting SSH version 2.0.12 and possibly others. This issue allows an attacker to guess user account names by trying valid usernames multiple times, even if an incorrect username is provided, as the server will only prompt for a password once per username attempt. This can aid an attacker in gaining unauthorized access to the system.
