Summary
CVE-1999-1230 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Quake 2 servers. Malicious actors can exploit this issue by sending a spoofed UDP packet with a source address of 127.0.0.1. The server, in an attempt to connect to itself, becomes unresponsive and unable to serve legitimate users, causing a denial of service condition. This vulnerability can significantly impact network availability and integrity.
