Summary
CVE-1999-1224 is a vulnerability affecting IMAP 4.1 BETA and possibly other versions. This issue arises from the server (imapd) failing to manage the SIGABRT signal appropriately. An attacker can exploit this vulnerability by sending specific command sequences to trigger a server crash. Upon crashing, a core dump may be generated and potentially expose sensitive password information.
