Summary

CVE-1999-1189 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.7 on Windows 95 and Windows 98. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted URL containing a long argument after the "?" character, which references an .asp, .cgi, .html, or .pl file. The result is a denial of service, potentially accompanied by the execution of arbitrary commands by the attacker. This vulnerability poses a significant risk to users who visit malicious websites, as it allows unauthorized code execution and system compromise.
