Summary

CVE-1999-1189 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting Netscape Navigator/Communicator 4.7 on Windows 95 and Windows 98. An attacker can exploit this issue by crafting a malicious URL with a long argument following a "?" character and referencing an .asp, .cgi, .html, or .pl file. The result is a denial of service, and potentially, the execution of arbitrary commands on the targeted system.
