Summary
CVE-1999-1157 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting the Tcpip.sys module in Windows NT 4.0 before Service Pack 4. Attackers can exploit this issue by sending ICMP Subnet Mask Address Request packets to a targeted system. If certain multiple IP addresses are bound to the same network interface, the system may become unresponsive due to an excessive number of ICMP requests, resulting in a denial-of-service condition. This vulnerability can be potentially exploited to disrupt network services and cause operational disruptions.
