Summary

CVE-1999-1100 is a cybersecurity vulnerability affecting Cisco PIX Private Link version 4.1.6 and earlier. The issue arises from the way the software processes certain commands in the configuration file, resulting in an effective DES key length of only 48 bits instead of the standard 56 bits. This reduction in key length significantly increases the likelihood of a successful brute force attack by an attacker.
