Summary

CVE-1999-1095 is a vulnerability affecting the sort command in Unix-based systems. This issue grants local users the ability to modify arbitrary writable files, by leveraging the creation of temporary files and following symbolic links during the sorting process. The vulnerability has been identified in updatedb and other programs using sort.
