Summary
CVE-1999-1033 is a vulnerability affecting Microsoft Outlook Express versions prior to 4.72.3612.1700. Malicious users can exploit this issue by sending specially crafted messages containing certain characters. This can cause Outlook to inadvertently re-enter POP3 command mode, resulting in a hanging POP3 session. The vulnerability poses a risk of denial-of-service attacks and potential information disclosure. Users are advised to update their software to the latest version to mitigate this issue.
