Summary

CVE-1999-1033 is a vulnerability affecting Microsoft Outlook Express versions prior to 4.72.3612.1700. A malicious user can exploit this issue by sending a specially crafted message. Upon opening the message, Outlook Express may inadvertently re-enter POP3 command mode, resulting in a hung POP3 session and potentially disrupting email access. This vulnerability could be exploited to cause denial-of-service or gain unauthorized access to email accounts. It is recommended that users update their Outlook Express software to a secure version to mitigate this risk.
