Summary
CVE-1999-0991 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the GoodTech Telnet Server NT. This issue enables remote users to cause a denial of service by inputting excessively long login names. The server fails to validate the length of the login name, leading to an overflow condition in the buffer. This can result in the crash of the Telnet Server, making it unavailable for legitimate users. This vulnerability can be exploited to disrupt the availability of affected systems.
