Summary

CVE-1999-0980 is a denial-of-service vulnerability affecting Windows NT Service Control Manager (SCM). An attacker can cause SCM to crash by sending a malformed argument during a resource enumeration request. This can result in the SCM becoming unresponsive, leading to a denial of service condition on the affected system. This vulnerability was discovered and reported in 1999 and should be addressed by applying available Microsoft patches. Remote attackers can exploit this vulnerability without authentication to cause disruption to the targeted system.
