Summary
CVE-1999-0976 is a vulnerability affecting the Sendmail email server. Hackers can exploit this issue by reinitializing the aliases database using the newaliases command and causing a denial of service by interrupting Sendmail in the process. Local users do not require elevated privileges to execute this attack. The vulnerability lies in the way Sendmail handles database reinitialization, resulting in a disruption of email services.
