Summary
CVE-1999-0878 is a critical buffer overflow vulnerability affecting WU-FTPD and related FTP servers. An attacker can exploit this flaw by sending a specially crafted MAPPING_CHDIR command, resulting in an overflow of the target buffer. Successful exploitation grants the attacker root privileges, allowing them to gain unauthorized access and control over the affected system.
