Details
Summary
CVE-1999-0875 is a vulnerability affecting DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) clients with ICMP Router Discovery Protocol (IRDP) enabled. Attackers can exploit this issue by remotely modifying the default routes of affected systems. This can result in traffic being redirected through malicious servers, potentially leading to man-in-the-middle attacks or data theft. The vulnerability was first identified in 1999 and poses a significant risk to networks where DHCP clients use IRDP to discover routers. System administrators are advised to disable IRDP or use alternative methods for router discovery to mitigate this threat.
