Summary

CVE-1999-0840 is a buffer overflow vulnerability affecting the CDE dtmail and dtmailpr programs. These programs, used in the CDE (Cray Design Environment) system, can be exploited by local users who provide overly long arguments to the -f option. Successful exploitation of this vulnerability grants elevated privileges to the attacker, potentially compromising the affected system.
