Summary
CVE-1999-0817 refers to a vulnerability in the Lynx WWW client, where an attacker can inject command-line parameters when Lynx calls external programs for handling certain protocols, such as telnet. This potentially allows the attacker to execute arbitrary commands on the affected system. This issue was discovered in 1999 and poses a serious risk to systems using the Lynx WWW client with external protocol handlers.
