Summary

CVE-1999-0815 is a memory leak vulnerability affecting the SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) agent in Windows NT 4.0 before Service Pack 5. An attacker can exploit this issue by sending a large number of queries to the SNMP agent, leading to memory exhaustion and a denial of service condition. The memory leak in the SNMP agent allows the attacker to consume significant system resources, making the targeted system unresponsive to legitimate traffic. This vulnerability poses a significant risk for networks that rely on Windows NT 4.0 systems and have not applied the necessary patch to mitigate the issue.
