Summary

CVE-1999-0798 is a critical buffer overflow vulnerability affecting bootpd, a DHCP (Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol) server, on OpenBSD, FreeBSD, and Linux systems. Maliciously crafted DHCP packets with incorrect header types can exploit this issue and cause the bootpd process to crash or execute arbitrary code.
