Summary
CVE-1999-0794 is a vulnerability affecting Microsoft Excel that goes unnoticed when opening a Symbolic Link (SYLK) format file containing a macro. This issue allows malicious actors to bypass the standard security warning that usually notifies users of the presence of macros in Excel files. As a result, users may unintentionally execute potentially harmful code without suspicion. This vulnerability could lead to data corruption or the installation of malware on an affected system. Microsoft addressed this issue in a subsequent security update.
